This thing is extra heavy duty. When I baught it I trimmed the bottem legs with a pipe cutter 6 inches. I then capped the rubber with a quarter in each leg. Thie quarter prevents the sharp pipe from cutting into the rubber feet. It's rated for 1000pd at full height. From my modifications the sturdyness is much improved with lower center of gravity.

Get one of these and modify its hight. It's greate if you plan on sitting in a waiting room or doctors office that doesn't accomidate big wide garth patents. When modified it's the best alternative lite seat for the price!

I am not near 1,000 pounds yet within a few weeks the rubber feet broke and let the steel legs punch through.

After awhile the bolts kept coming loose and then bent.

Today two of the welds just broke that hold the legs to the seat circle.

I am going to buy another one today to give it a second chance and will still recommend it, if you don't come close to the 1,000 pound rating.

Comments about Living XL LivingXL® Work Stool:

This is our fourth time buying this stool. It is needed for a family member to sit on when doing tasks around the house or when going to the garage. Earlier models had a problem of the legs punching through the rubber feet within a week of first use. We made a suggestion and it must have been heard, because the steel legs now feature a plug in the bottom so when the rubber feet are added, they won't punch through as easy. Good job! However, for this being a "1,000 Pound" stool, it still twists the same direction over time and ultimately cracks the steel, making it unsafe. The user is close to 1,000 pounds and uses it as directed, as a stool. The bolts end up bending over time as well. Even with that, as stated, we do keep buying it, so it does serve a purpose, if even for awhile.

        Difficult to assemble

        Verified Buyer

Comments about Living XL LivingXL® Work Stool:

Although this stool is comfortable and will be a benefit at work, it was difficult to assemble. I had to purchase additional nuts and screws to attach the legs because the acorn nuts (the picture showed regular hex nuts) would not tighten and the screws that were supposed to attach the seat were not long enough.

Comments about Living XL LivingXL® Work Stool:

stool is strong and relatively easy to assemble. However the screws to attach the seat to the legs are too short (by 3/4 inch). Required someone sitting on it to apply enough pressure for them to reach the bottom of the seat. Otherwise a very good product at a reasonable price

Stool sounds better than it is

        By Mike

Comments about Living XL LivingXL® Work Stool:

This is a nice size stool and has been useful in the kitchen. It has issues, one big one on my stool is the cheap rubber feet, the legs cut thru the rubber feet very easily. The maker needs to use a steel washer enforced foot not the one they use now. The other thing is that the stool tends to wiggle because of the bolt together construction. I can see the bolts possibly breaking in the future. I would have say that if I were to recommend this it would with reservations of the two things I have issues with above.

Comments about Living XL LivingXL® Work Stool:

It is a reliable stool however after having it for over a year and a half the rubber caps for the bottom of the stool wore out. I was told by customer rep that there are no more in stock. So I have taken 4 cheap tennis balls and put them on the bottom of the stool to repace the worn rubber caps.
