Rather easy to put together. I am 500 pds and 6 feet tall. I wanted something that sits a little high and this does. My thighs are not hitting the sides of the arm rest. So far the arm rest are sturdy enough for when I get up they are not bending. The right armrest seems to be a little loose but I will call and have them send me another. The back angle of the chair is WAY back with no adjustment to make it more of a 90 degree angle. If I lean back it is high enough for my head to rest. You just need to wait for the sale but I would recommened this for the real over weight person. If you are just 300-400 pounds you can get chairs just as good for less money.

I really like this chair except for the fact that the height adjustment feature (the gas lift) does not work. No amount of rotating the seat has ever caused the seat to lift higher. In fact, the seat is at 17", a full inch less than the listed seat heights. If you need a higher seat (like I do), find another product.

    Nice chair with poor wheels

    By Chair guy

Comments about Living XL LivingXL® Extra-Wide Lift-Up Arm Office Chair with Gas Lift:

Sturdy chairs but on all 3 I have purchased the wheels do not roll, they somehow rub on the base I believe. Even with no weight on the chair it rolls poorly. Had to replace the wheels on all 3 at a cost of $50 a set.

A very good (but not flawless) chair

    By Dr. Bob

    from Pittsburgh, PA

    Pros

    • Comfort; security

    Cons

    • Some parts don't fit--screw holes not aligned.

    Best Uses

    • Desk chair for the oversized person.

Comments about Living XL LivingXL® Extra-Wide Lift-Up Arm Office Chair with Gas Lift:

I'm happy with the chair over-all; it's very comfortable and I know it won't dump me on the floor (like my last office chair did!) Very attractive. Assembling it was more than a challenge; some things worked perfectly, but the holes for placing the armrests simply couldn't be made to line up.

Good Chair but needs a tilt

    By Daniel

    Pros

    • Big Seat
    • Nice High Back

    Cons

    • Feels A Little Off
    • Screws Do Not Line Up Wel

Comments about Living XL LivingXL® Extra-Wide Lift-Up Arm Office Chair with Gas Lift:

I got this chair because I am a big guy and it looked similar to a chair I use at my office. While it looks the same and has almost the same feel it is missing something that this chair needs for anyone who works all day, a tilt feature. I can see myself sitting in this and working easily, but with out the ability to shift my weight it gets uncomfortable. That and trying to put together is not that easy. The the screws that attached to the seat and the back to not line up well. and the arm rest ones on one side do not line up well at all.

      Sturdy big chair

      By Bob

      from Houston, TX

      Verified Buyer

      Pros

      • Sturdy Wide Seat And Back

      Cons

      • Bottom too high
      • Lumbar Too Big No Adjust
      • Poor casters

      Best Uses

Comments about Living XL LivingXL® Extra-Wide Lift-Up Arm Office Chair with Gas Lift:

        Use as computer desk chair.
        good wide seat and back
Does not roll well on casters
Can't adjust the seat low enough
Lumber pad too big, with no adjust.
Construction quality is fair, but not great. Had trouble assembling due to misalignment of bolts.for back to seat brace and arm rests.

I would recommend, but with strong qualifiers.

        Verified Buyer

Comments about Living XL LivingXL® Extra-Wide Lift-Up Arm Office Chair with Gas Lift:

This chair is very durable and sturdy. I have only had it for about a week and I think it is going to work well. However, it was extremely difficult to assemble. I had my two sons pushing and pulling to align the holes so we could screw in the bolts. The cushions seem a bit hard, but I will get used to it. Overall a good chair.

Comments about Living XL LivingXL® Extra-Wide Lift-Up Arm Office Chair with Gas Lift:

This chair came in and needed assembly, it seemed easy but was not that easy. It took two of us to put it together and the holes did not always line up. This chair is comfortable and extremely wide, almost too wide. It rolls well on our tile floor. I just wish that it had more adjustment options.

The wheels on the chair. Is it easy for the caps to pop off the frame of the wheel?
I reason I ask is because I have a chair very close to this one & the caps of the wheels pop off while sitting on the chair. Are there any solid wheels I can get that will fit into this chair?

I've had this chair for about 4 years. I haven't had any problems with the wheels or wheel caps (and, for part of the time I've owned the chair, I was pretty close to the weight capacity of the chair). However, I have only kept the chair on regular carpet, not on low/dense carpet nor on hard wood floors. So I can't tell if you the issue is any different on those types of flooring.

I see that this chair has a "gas lift" for adjustment purposes. I need to know if this chair has a "spring" to lift the chair as the person is standing. I currently have a basic (less expensive) chair that does this and would prefer to include this feature in a chair that I purchase.
